Last night, the British Independent Film Awards were held in London, honoring the best of independent filmmaking in Britain.  American Honey took home the Best Independent Film award, but the biggest surprise of the evening came from the film Under the Shadow.

Under the Shadow is a Farsi-language horror film that follows a mother and daughter as they cope with the terrors of post-revolution Tehran in the 1980s and a mysterious evil force starts to take over their house. The film’s director, Babak Anvari won awards for screenplay and best debut director. But the young 9-year-old actress who starred in the film, Avin Manshadi, took home a prize as well.

The adorable Avin Manshadi took home the prize for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Under the Shadow.

Eeeee! Isn’t she just the sweetest? Avin was clearly proud of her prize, and she should be! This was only her first film, and she’s already got some fabulous bling to show for it.

Avin was also clearly as adorable in the film as she was at the awards.

Those gorgeous eyes! We can see a great career ahead of her.

And Avin looked fabulous in this black dress with flowers around the hemline.

The Peter Pan collar and bow add the perfect bit of detail to the top. We really hope that dress come in adult sizes!

We’re so proud of this little cutie for taking home a big win.

We hope to see more of Avin in the future!
