We’re still reeling from the revelation of those last four words from Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but that hasn’t stopped the speculation about exactly WHO is the father of Rory’s baby from escalating. In fact, Milo Ventimiglia has weighed in on the Rory baby drama, and he has quite the revelation about Jess.

Ever since Gilmore Girls returned last year, we’ve spent months questioning who could be the father of Rory’s unborn child. We’ve speculated as to whether the child could be the product of Rory’s tryst with ex-lover Logan Huntzberger, or whether, in fact, it could be a repercussion of her meeting with the Wookiee.

Well, in a bid to clear up any confusion, Milo Ventimiglia has confirmed that Jess ISN’T the father of the baby.

Speaking at the Gotham-themed panel at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London earlier this week, Movie Pilot quotes the This Is Us actor denying that Jess Mariano has anything to do with Rory’s unborn child.

In fact, Milo seems pretty keen to leave all Gilmore Girls chatter in the past.

“It was a great time. Jess was a fun character, but I always remind people that it was 16 years ago in the past. I’m very happy that the fans and the audience got those last four episodes,” he said. “They should be happy with that.”

This isn’t the first time that Milo has spoken about how he doesn’t think that Jess is the father. The actor told AOL’s Build Series that he didn’t think that Jess was involved, and later also said that he was done with playing Jess.

“I think the stories were told. I think it was great for the audience and fans to get just one small taste of that world again,” he said in an interview with USA Today. But, at the same time, I think people should not get so greedy.”

Eek!

Netflix

It seems, tbh, that Milo is pretty happy with his current role of Jack on NBC’s weepy drama This Is Us, so we totally understand not wanting to go back to Gilmore Girls. In fact, we’re not sure when Milo would find the time, given that This Is Us has been renewed for TWO seasons.

This does mean, however, that our guesses as to who could be the father of Rory’s baby has been slimed down by one. Now we just need to hunt down that Wookiee…
