Millie Bobby Brown gave an emotional acceptance speech at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, and no, you're crying
She might only be 13 years old, but Millie Bobby Brown won the award for Best Actor in a TV show at last night’s MTV Movie & TV Awards, and her acceptance speech will totally make you grab for the tissues and bawl your eyes out.
Over the last 12 months, Millie Bobby Brown and the cast of Stranger Things have had quite the breakout time. And, from performing “Uptown Funk” at the Emmys, to the news that Stranger Things would be returning for Season 2, it doesn’t look like that momentum is showing any signs of slowing down.
In fact, last night Millie Bobby Brown picked up the Best Actor gong for a TV show at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, and her acceptance speech will bring a tear to your eye.
Clearly overwhelmed by having her name called out, Millie gave her Stranger Things co-stars hugs, and headed up to the stage where she was handed the golden popcorn by none other than Zac Efron.
The 13-year-old actor then gave a tearful and emotional speech in which she thanked a whole host of people.
“I want to thank the cast and crew for being my second family. You guys, I love you,” she said through tears. “And I want to thank my family and my mum and dad for being so supportive.”
The star then thanked Netflix, as well as her publicists and her team whom she said were more like her friends. Then then turned her attention to Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
Following her win, the actor took to Instagram to express just how grateful she was for the award.
“You guys…I’m so happy!” she said.
Later, Zac Efron also shared his excitement at handing Millie her award.
Also winning big at the awards was Emma Watson, who scooped the award for Best Actor for her role in Beauty and the Beast. Meanwhile, we don’t have too long to wait until Season 2 of Stranger Things hits our screens. The second season lands on Netflix on October 31st, which seems pretty fitting, tbh.
