Billy on the Street (we’re obsessed with Billy Eichner BTW), Sesame Street1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and Funny or Die joined forces in a grocery store, and the results were huhhh-larious.

Michelle Obama was a first-time guest on Billy on the the Street — taking a leaf from her husband’s social media book and mimicking his fave media-play by publicizing herself and initiatives via an outlet with mega viral potential. (For POTUS examples of this tactic, think President Obama’s Reddit AMA, his interview on Buzzfeed, or his appearance on Between Two Fern.)

Well Michelle Obama on Billy on the Street was actually comedy gold. It wasn’t just MObama feeling the Billy love. She was joined in the supermarket (and on camera) by Big Bird and frequent Billy on the Street guest Elena. If you know anything about Billy Eichner, you can probably guess how it went — awkward, ridiculous and brilliantly funny. Elena was a total highlight, and her dynamic with the First Lady is something the world’s most awkward dreams are made of.

The First Lady was on the program to raise awareness for Eat Brighter — a collaboration between The White House, Sesame Street and Produce Marketing Association that helps encourage kids and parents to eat more fruits and vegetables. Consider us informed because there was NO way we were missing this all-star Billy on the Street lineup.

To Billy’s credit, he treated FLOTUS the same way that he treats all of his other on-air guests. There was trivia (“Ariana Grande or Eating a Carrot?”), slow dancing, a death threat given by the First Lady, a lot of yelling, a shopping cart race, a poster of Ariana Grande’s ponytail. . . All the while Michelle Obama remained gorg, and strong, and poised, and brilliant, and an incredibly good sport.

We could go on and on about how funny this video is, but you really just need to see it for yourself.
