Ever since the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we’ve been wondering about the moments that *didn’t* make it into the finished film. Luckily, Marvel’s new Rogue One comic book might just provide us with some answers. We’re definitely curious, because ICYMI, there are a LOT scenes missing from Rogue One that were in the trailers. And, it seems, we’ll get some of those moments in the comic itself.

The first issue of the Rogue One comic adaptation comes out in April. The six-issue run is written by Jody Houser (a female writer, all the YAS) and illustrated by Emilio Laiso. Here’s the cover of the first issue:

Houser spoke with Entertainment Weekly about both the film and the comic — and they talk about whether the Rogue One comics will show us anything we didn’t see in the film. Houser’s answer gives us a lot of hope regarding those cut scenes:

We don’t know whether all of the moments Houser’s talking about were actually filmed, though. There were actually a whopping 46 pieces of footage in Rogue One trailers that didn’t make it into the movie, but we know there were a lot of reshoots.

Jon’s iconic, “I rebel,” statement is a lost moment we’d love to see realized in the comic.

…As is the moment of Jyn and Cassian running with the Death Star plans…

Of course, Rogue One’s ending was supposed to be different. So, it’s possible some of those great moments *won’t* show up in the comic. But, Houser does confirm that the comic will give us new elements about the story of the stolen Death Star plans:

So, we don’t know if the exact lost moments from the trailers will feature in the Rogue One comic. But, we do know we’re excited to see whatever new material Marvel has in store for Star Wars fans in the adaptation.
