If our first favorite mother-daughter duo is Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel (better known as Lorelai and Rory, who are also coming back into our lives), our second favorite mother-daughter duo is Lauren Graham and Mae Whitman (better known as Sarah and Amber). Since Parenthood ended earlier this year, the two are just as close as ever. And when you’ve got a beautiful mother-daughter television friendship, you bring it back to as soon as possible.

So now, we’ve getting a Braverman second act, but this time they’re taking it to the MOVIES. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Graham and Whitman are teaming up to produce The Royal We, based on a book by the same name. The book, written by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan, follows the story of a young girl who moves to London to study at Oxford. There, she “falls in love with Great Britain’s future king, but finds herself having second thoughts about becoming part of the royal family on the eve of the wedding of the century.”

Does it kinda sound like the real-life story of Kate Middleton and Prince William? Yes, yes it does. Also, kinda channeling one of our favorite movies from the 2000s, The Prince and Me? Indeed. We’re on board with this 100%, and there’s still more Graham and Whitman goodness to come.

Not only will the two produce the movie together, but Graham is actually writing the script for it. Even better, Whitman just might star in the movie too, because it’s about time Whitman became a mega-star leading lady.

As you can probably guess, both of them are super excited about this.

Whitman says that it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to HER, but it’s also the best thing that’s happened to US. The film is being produced by CBS Films, and literally cannot get to theaters soon enough.
