Former member of British boyband One Direction Louis Tomlinson has talked about the tragic death of his mother for the first time.

Late last year, Louis sadly lost his lost his mom to leukemia. The singer had a tumultuous year, which also saw him become a dad for the first time, and launch his debut solo song outside of One Direction, “Just Hold On,” just days after his mother’s untimely passing. The track, a collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki, was given it’s debut outing on the season finale of The X Factor U.K. in front of an emotional Simon Cowell, and Louis was visibly tearful following the performance.

Now Louis Tomlinson has spoken publicly about his mother’s death and our hearts are going out to him.

Speaking to SiriusXM during a radio interview, Louis said that he considered giving it all up following mis mom Johannah’s passing.

Continuing, he said it was “nice for me to have a little send off for her.”

Louis also talked about reconciling with his former bandmate, Zayn Malik. The pair had previously been embroiled in a public fight with each other on social media in 2015.
