There are so many reasons to love Louis CK. First of all, his comedy is ON POINT. Secondly, his show, Louie, has perfectly combined comedy with heartfelt life lessons. Thirdly, oh hey, have you seen his hysterical impression of Jimmy Fallon?

Now, we get to appreciate Louis CK on the big screen. . . as the voice of a four-legged furry friend. His new movie, The Secret Life of Pets, is an animated flick about—you guessed it—our furry hostages.

Starring CK as a witty terrier, the film explores what pets do when their owners aren’t around. And you can bet it’s going to be funny. Just take a look at the cast, so far:  our girl Ellie Kemper, Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart are all on board to play pets. Oh, and the scriptwriters are pretty impressive too—they’re the team behind Despicable Me. Sounds perfect, right?

According to Deadline, the film opens on a Manhattan apartment where CK’s dog is “at the epicenter of his master’s universe.” But his status is challenged by a new pup (Stonestreet), “a sloppy mongrel with no polish.” Somehow, the two end up on a New York adventure, bumping into a sweet-looking white bunny, named Snowball (Hart) on the city streets. Snowball is, however, an evil leader of an army of abandoned pets, plotting revenge on humanity. The two dogs have to get along and put a stop to this crazy threat to civilization all before dinnertime. Because all dog owners know that a dog’s dinner CANNOT be missed.

Are you convinced this is going to be warm, fuzzy and hilarious yet? We’re down and we’re so ready for July 8, 2016 when the movie is going to be released. Louis CK? Pets? Animation? Hello, recipe for perfection.
