Lorde has teased new new music with a cryptic video, and we're intrigued
It looks like now is the time to truly freak out, as Lorde has teased new music with a cryptic video and it sounds like a proper BANGER.
Last week it was revealed that Lorde would be dropping by Saturday Night Live, which basically confirmed that new music would be coming “soon” (oh we do dislike the word “soon”). It’s been nearly four years since Lorde released her debut album, Pure Heroine, and since then the singer has only shared two new songs, “Yellow Flicker Beat” from the Hunger Games soundtrack, and the Disclosure collaboration “Magnets.”
Well, it seems that new music from Lorde could be coming in the next few days!
Taking to Twitter, the singer shared the following two messages.
The link takes you to a teaser video, which sees the singer sitting in a car eating some food while house-y pianos play in the background. Two dates are then teased, 3.2.17 for NYC and 3.3.17 for NZ.
According to speculation on Twitter, the song is said to be called “Green Light,” and looks set to drop THIS WEEK!
Previously, the singer has been rather reticent about revealing any information about her new music. On her 20th birthday, the singer penned a confessional letter to her fans where she said that she wished she could spill everything to them (especially given how impatient they are).
“I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I’ve written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show,” she said at the time. “I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand.”
Well, it seems that, finally, the time has come. Lorde is planning to release *something* this Friday, and we are SO ready!
