Summer means summer vacation. And summer vacation means lounging, hanging, chilling and more lounging. At least during the times we’re not working, taking summer classes, making dinner, paying bills etc. times a million. Okay, so summer technically means live life as normal, but enjoy the outdoors and the sunshine a bit more.
Summer also means MOVIES. The movies we’ve been dying to see for so many months are finally here, because the teaser “Coming This Summer” we’ve been seeing for almost an entire year has finally come to fruition — those movies are finally here. Summer is now.
So without further ado, here are the movies coming out in June that we’re stoked about seeing, and we have a feeling you might be stoked too.
1. Finding Dory (June 17)
We’ve been waiting what seems like forever to be a part of Dory’s journey to find her family. She spent a lot of time helping Nemo reunite with his dad, so it seems only right that Dory should have the help she deserves to find her own family. We’re coming for you, Dory! The movie starring our fave Ellen DeGeneres hits theaters June 17.
2. Independence Day: Resurgence (June 24)
Twenty years after the original alien invasion, they’re back. We always knew they’d come back. And they’re bigger than the last ones. Coming to a theater near you on June 24. Also, Jeff Goldblum is back, so. . .
3. Me Before You (June 3)
On June 3, the Game of Thrones dragon queen Emilia Clarke will embark on a coming-of-age story. We fell in love with Jojo Moyes’ best-selling book of the same name, so we’re super jazzed about seeing the film adaptation!
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (June 3)
We’ll never not be excited about all things TMNT. Also, pizza.
5. De Palma (June 10)
A documentary about one of the world’s most influential filmmakers. We will forever be obsessed with Carrie, Scarface and Phantom of Paradise, so we can’t wait to get a glimpse into the mind of Brian De Palma himself. The film will be have a limited release beginning June 10.
6. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (June 3)
Because Andy Samberg and Judd Apatow all day. Hitting theaters on June 3, this might just be the comedy of the summer.
7. Central Intelligence (June 17)
Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Aaron Paul, and Amy Ryan being hilarious. Yes. Sign us up.
