Lena Dunham totally makes fun of herself with this intentionally terrible Hillary Clinton rap, and thank you world
Alright, it’s less than a week to go until we vote for our next president, and it kinda feels like we’ve seen enough PSAs to last a lifetime. So thank the heavens that Lena Dunham has released a parody Hillary Clinton PSA which basically pokes some gentle fun at every celebrity PSA you’ve seen this season (while still kinda subversively being a real PSA for Hillary…so props for cleverness).
And we’ve seen everything from Joss Whedon’s Save the Day, to Aziz Ansari, to the one where Julia Louis-Dreyfus talks to millennials about voting — so there’s rich material to draw from.
This Funny Or Die video is called “Sensual Pantsuit Anthem,” and we’re so glad that Dunham chose this medium to express herself. This election has us tense AF, so this was seriously a welcome relief.
Okay, ready? Press play, and start rapping (badly)!
In an interview with Vulture, Dunham explains her celebrity-PSA spoofing:
She goes on to admit that she’s a “crazed Hillary Clinton fan,” and was interested in portraying a character who took it one step further into the “delusional” fan territory.
Thanks, Lena. Because this pure goofiness genuinely helped us breath a little better in what’s become one of the tensest elections of our lives. Keep it going, girl!
