Katy Perry is on her way to owning a convent, where she'll live with her mom and grandma
Yesterday, Katy Perry got a step closer to becoming the proud new owner of a former Catholic convent. A Los Angeles court voided the sale to businesswoman, who had hoped to make the land in Loz Feliz into a boutique hotel. That’s right: Katy’s looking to buy a convent.
What exactly would she do with a convent? Back in June of 2015, according to the Los Angeles Times, Katy said that she “wanted to live on the property with her mother and her grandmother, sit in the meditation garden, sip green tea, and find herself.” Sounds like heaven to us! How sweet is it that she wants to live with her mom and grandma?
Katy has been eyeing up the eight-acre property for quite some time, but it was initially sold by the nuns to a businesswoman named Dana Hollister, according to the Associated Press. That is, until a judge ruled it an improper sale yesterday because the nuns hadn’t had the authorization of the sale from the archbishop. So now, it means Katy is totally in the clear to buy herself a convent, and she’s offered $14.5 million. Now, all she needs is approval from the Vatican. So, you know, NBD.
The only problem was that back then, at least two of the five nuns researched her, found her music videos and did not approve. But now that Katy has emerged victorious, and it looks like she may very well get to live her dream of drinking tea with her mom and grandma in the meditation garden. If only we could join in on this zen party.
