Yesterday (December 14th), the internet lost its collective mind after Kanye West visited the President-elect Donald Trump. Now Kanye has explained why he visited Trump Tower.

Last month it was announced that Kanye West had been hospitalized for mental health reasons. The star cancelled a bunch of live dates after what some were calling “erratic behavior,” which included lengthy speeches on stage, and declarations that he would have voted for Donald Trump in the recent election.

At the beginning of this month, however, Kanye was released from hospital after suffering from sleep depravation and exhaustion. Then yesterday Kanye West visited Trump Tower to speak with the President-elect.

As TMZ reported, it was Kanye who had requested the meeting with Trump. Speaking as he was leaving the building, Trump claimed that the pair had been “friends for a long time.” However, when quizzed by reporters why he had visited the President-elect, Kanye kept pretty quiet, explaining that he just wanted to have his picture taken with Trump at that time.

Now the rapper has spoken out about why he visited Trump Tower and it kind of makes sense.

Taking to his favorite medium of Twitter, Kanye explained that he had met with Trump to talk about “multicultural issues.”

Kanye ended his explanation with just one simple tweet…

Last year, Kanye West announced his plans to run for President of the United States in 2020. While he skirted around the announcement in an interview this year, it seems that Ye still has plans to run for the White House, albeit four years later than originally planned.
