Justin Trudeau has called for a rematch against Chandler from "Friends," and we think they need to hug it out
Some rivalries never die, especially if you’re Matthew Perry and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In case you missed it, Perry admitted to once beating up Trudeau when they attended grade school at Rockcliffe Park Public School in Ottawa. Perry was in fifth grade and a couple years older than Trudeau, and claimed he did it out of total jealousy.
The former Friends star, who is now 49, visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the incident, and said it is something they’ve never discussed and that he’s not proud of it.
Perry is half-Canadian, and only briefly overlapped with Trudeau in school, during the time that Trudeau’s father was prime minister. Though he claims that had nothing to do with the unsolicited violence, and chalked it up to being young and immature.
We were worried that Trudeau might have really been hurt by this bullying, but apparently not.
Now Trudeau is chiming in, and the feisty Prime Minister took to Twitter to call Perry out for rematch!
Listen, we love us some Chandler, but we given what we know about Trudeau’s workouts:
Yeah, our money is on the Prime Minister.
We think this is likely just joking around between the two guys, but we really want them to hug it out and be friends. Trudeau’s tweet, which he posted early this morning, is already north of 15,000 likes, after all! Time for some anti-bullying ads together, guys!
Let’s get them both on Kimmel to have a friendly, mediated discussion.
