JK Rowling is a clever woman. She knows how much we long for more Harry Potter books, and to sustain our appetite, she’s been revealing details about the elaborate HP universe on Twitter for, well, years. Remember when James S. Potter was sorted into Gryffindor? And when she blew our minds by telling us the ‘t’ in Voldemort is silent?

If you don’t follow Rowling on Twitter, you’re seriously missing out. This weekend, her beloved Scotland rugby team faced Samoa, and she recruited her followers for support. There was a lot at stake — the winner would progress to the quarter finals of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

So she struck a deal with her 5.7 million Twitter followers: If everyone tweeted #AsOne to help cheer on Scotland, she would reveal Sirius Black’s birthday.

Luckily for us, Scotland won!

“WE WON!!!” the author tweeted after Scotland’s nail-biting 36-33 victory. “And Sirius Black was born on the 3rd of November.”

November 3rd is coming up fast! That makes Sirius a Scorpio, which makes total sense — Scorpios are known for their determination and strong will, and never insist on being the center of attention. He shares a birthday with Kendall Jenner, Anna Wintour and Roseanne Barr.

We love this because Sirius Black is such a wonderful character. Sure, he isn’t real, but we wish he was, and knowing his birthday makes him seem all the more real to us! The whole thing is win-win — Rowling is ecstatic that Scotland won, and we’re ecstatic that she shared more HP secrets with us. Oh, and happy early birthday, Sirius.
