Jimmy Fallon and the cast of 'Star Wars' just made a perfect a cappella tribute to the movie
You could say Jimmy Fallon is pretty excited for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, coming to theaters this Friday. So excited, in fact, that throughout the entire press tour of the cast, he’s been putting together something extra special. He’s taken the iconic Star Wars theme, plus the talented cast we’ve come to love, and added a dash of his musical affinity (with help from The Roots, of course), to create this galactically wonderful a cappella tribute.
Through the magic of video editing, all our favorite people start popping up on screen, “dum”-ing and “bum”-ing away. Thanks to Inside Llewyn Davis, we already knew that Oscar Isaac was an insanely talented singer, but who’d have thought Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford would be equally as gifted? Together, their voices create something that I think is safe to say is better than the original. I’m sure the producers would agree, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this song shows up during the end credits. At least, it should, because it will be stuck in my head until then anyway.
