Sex is complicated enough as it is IRL, so we can only imagine how anxiety-inducing it must be to fake it for the movies. Though we’ve always had a feeling this was the case, both Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt have confirmed our suspicions about on-screen sexy time.

Back in May, when asked about what it was like filming one of her very first sex scenes for the sci-fi film Passengers, Jennifer told E! News that she prepared for this intimate moment with Chris Pratt by… getting intoxicated. She added,

“It was just nerve-racking. It’s not even about your co-star because Pratt is so wonderful and lovely. My nerves weren’t about him.”

Jennifer explained that she was anxious because everyone she worked with would be watching her and Chris simulating sex. “It was more about everybody you work with – all of the cameramen, all the producers, and the director,” Jennifer said. “You come to work and all the people who you work with are watching and listening.” Ultimately, her biggest fear was that someone would burst onto the set and tell her that she was overacting during the sex scene.

As for Chris Pratt, he was a total gentleman when describing his sex scene with Jennifer:

“We’re actors and it’s a big a part of the job,” said Chris. “Your job as a leading man is to make the actress feel comfortable and you do that by minimizing the amount of people that are there and … having a sense of whether or not they’re feeling okay.”

Though Jennifer may have been extra nervous for this particular scene (then again, who wouldn’t be?), we have a feeling that Chris Pratt made her feel nothing but comfortable.
