Get ready to dye your hair pink and throw sparkles everywhere, because a brand new trailer for the Jem and the Holograms reboot is here. The movie, set to hit theaters this fall, will be a live-action version of our beloved cult favorite. And we could NOT be more pumped.

When the first trailer was released, people weren’t so thrilled because it seemed as though the reboot would have nothing in common with the original ’80s series other than the name. Even the story seemed to be completely different. In the original series, owner and manager of Starlight Music adopts the “Jem” persona using a holographic computer (Synergy) so that she can be the lead singer of the rock group “Jem and the Holograms;” in the movie, Jerrica is a normal girl until a YouTube video of her singing goes totally viral, and she goes to Hollywood to undergo her “Jem” transformation.

In the first trailer, the hologram machine was nowhere to be seen (although there was a bit of a tribute when Jerrica/Jem rubbed her earrings before going on and whispering, “It’s showtime, Synergy”). Plus, it didn’t seem as though Jerrica had the same ass-kicking spunky personality as Jem did.

Now, a second trailer has been released, and GUYS, THERE’S ACTUALLY A HOLOGRAPHIC COMPUTER ROBOT THING. And it is the cutest robot we’ve ever seen. The robot was left for Jerrica by her father when he died, and it looks like it will actually have some role involving projecting holograms as messages from her father. So, there will definitely be holograms. We know that much.

The film will be hitting theaters October 23rd, and while it’s clear that it won’t be a carbon copy of the ’80s series we all know and love, it definitely looks like it will be pretty rad. After all, Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis are in it, so what’s not to love?!
