Every once in awhile, the stars align and something so wonderfully fortuitous happens, all we can do is bow down to the magical universe. And this might be my favorite example of it yet. Jeff Goldblum and his adorable wife Emilie Livingston just announced the birth of their healthy baby boy, who arrived on—wait for it—July 4th. Independence Day. As in, Independence Day. Just a little film he appeared in back in 1996.

This is fate, you guys. Kismet. And I love it. Goldblum shared a family photo on his official Facebook page announcing the news. (Cue Jurassic Park/”life, uh, finds a way” jokes —because duh.) The little one’s name is Charlie Ocean Goldblum—pretty tame as far as celebrity baby names go, but still pretty unique. And adorable. Of course Charlie is cute as can be, and we have a hunch Goldblum is going to be a pret-ty awesome dad. I mean think about it — Jeff Goldblum has a fearless sense of adventure! He and his family will go to really fun, cool places for sure. And he also has the smoothest voice in the history of voices —he’ll sing the most soothing lullabies!

“We’re so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day,” the proud papa wrote.

As if this story wasn’t good enough, let’s add another layer to it: Goldblum celebrated the Fourth by posting a teaser video on Facebook for Independence Day: Resurgence, the 2016 film in which he will reprise his role as David Levinson. And he also posted an IDR set photo (with Liam Hemsworth) on July 2nd. Was he predicting the future of his son’s birth? Is Jeff Goldblum a wizard? Do I even need to ask that?

You’ve had a pretty big week, JGold! If you can find a minute to spare amidst all of the bottles and diapers, you should probably buy a lottery ticket. Congratulations to the new parents!
