Earlier this week, Suicide Squad‘s director David Ayer released a picture of the full cast together for a script read-through. It included everyone — except Jared Leto. He was noticeably absent from the image, causing slight mass hysteria with many speculating that he had left the film. Others just assumed he was taking the picture. We don’t know why he was MIA for the picture, but we do know that he’s still very much on board to play The Joker in Suicide Squad, whew. And now, Ayer has given us a little taste of what The Joker will look like.

Mind you, it really is a tiny little taste, and Jared is mostly obstructed by the camera he’s holding but hey, we’ll take whatever Jared-Joker we can get.

Ayer captioned the image with a cheeky, #WhereIsJared, because he KNOWS we freaked out a little bit. This puts us at east now. Jared’s long beautiful ombre locks are gone, (RIP, hair goals) and in its place appears to be green hair. Yes, that’s right, Jared is going Full Joker for this.

This image is also a huge nod to one the origin story of The Joker, The Killing Joke (and a huge thanks to Slash Films for pointing that out. They’re totally on top of this Suicide Squad stuff).

Does this mean that the movie could feature a young Joker, and his rise to becoming one of the baddest guys Gotham City has ever seen?

Suicide Squad opens August 2016, so this means Ayer has ton of time to tweet us more Squad goodness. We’ll be waiting.
