Though we have thoroughly enjoyed James McAvoy with a full head of hair in “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” now we’re deep into “X-Men: Apocalypse” filming and the time has come for McAvoy’s Professor X to go bald.

Any fan of the comics and/or first cycle of movies knew this moment was coming (remember, it WAS Patrick Stewart who previously played this role) but it is still a shocker to see McAvoy sans hair.

Director Bryan Singer posted this shot to Instagram yesterday with the caption “#Xavier reborn (in process).”

Note, that is NOT a bald cap, McAvoy went full head-shave for the role. And the internet approved:

It’s getting REAL, you guys. “X-Men: Apocalypse” is set to drop May 27th, 2016. Thank you Bryan Singer for all the awesome social media sneak peeks, we’re all kinds of excited for more!!!
