J.J. Abrams has become somewhat the ~unofficial~ king of reboots. First, he boldly took Star Trek in a brand new direction, and then, jumped into another galaxy far, far away with Star Wars. And on yeah, he’s also a producer on Westworld. Everything he touches is basically 💯. But if you’re holding your break for J.J. to jump into another franchise, don’t hold your breath. According to J.J. himself, he is leaving reboots behind.

However, don’t expect J.J. to completely turn his back on movies, television, and other amazing things. He doesn’t want to do any more reboots/reimaginings because he’s ready to tackle some of his own stories.

Talking to People on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, J.J. explained:

We can’t wait to see the fresh, new projects that J.J. Abrams has in store for fans. And, eventually, maybe the reboots of those projects!
