The ladies of Broad City are back at it again. New episodes (have you watched the Season 4 trailer yet?!) are coming to a television near you in September, and we can barely contain our excitement!

Recent news confirmed that the pair will be bleeping out Donald Trump’s name as if it were a curse word. Plus, we’ll finally learn how Ilana and Abbi first met! More shenanigans based on the dynamic duo’s New York lifestyle are sure to score some laughs. But that’s not all.

According to a recent interview with NYLON, Jacobson and Glazer say we also might see some more serious content regarding the 2016 election.

Glazer explains that the “timeline will be vaguely current” and the season will be “infused with what [the characters are] feeling—and what [the actors are] feeling.”

She continues: “Sometimes it may just be a joke, or something in the background, but we definitely want that feeling to be cohesive across the season.” Glazer also says the tone will follow “the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.”

Jacobson openly admits that discussing politics has been a struggle for her.

Given the uncertainty of our current political climate, some laughs from Jacobson, Glazer, and Broad City are exactly what we need right now. And they’re happy to deliver.

What these two amazing women do continues to inspire us. We can’t wait for September! YAAAS, KWEEN.
