Sure, Harry Potter may have been one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes. But, according to this hilarious video from Mashable, he may have been even more than that.

The fan-made recut trailer remakes Harry Potter into an epic love story between the young wizard and He Who Shall Not Be Named.

The video was a collaboration between Mashable and CineFix, who uploaded it to their YouTube channel. The romantic song “On My Mind” by Tori Sparks plays in the background as we see cuts of Harry and Voldemort both looking intensely into the distance. Anytime they share the screen, it’s super charged. Just, you know, not in the way the original movies intended.

Like all these successful (and LOL-worthy) recuts, the actual footage we see is recognizable from the film series. They just change the tone and play around with some of the words in between. So when Voldemort says “He’ll come to me,” it feels a lot less creepy and a lot more sensual in this trailer.

Of course, the good people at Mashable and CineFix were just playing around.

Harry and Voldemort were the definition of enemies. And we totally know that.

We just also know it’s fun to wonder about all the small clues and fan theories we could have missed the first (or twentieth) time watching. And this video certainly makes us wonder if there was a true love story unfolding right before our eyes.

Besides, this video doesn’t have to be true to be entertaining. It will crack up even the purest Potterhead. So enjoy and happy Voldemort’s – we mean Valentine’s Day, everyone.
