We’ve loved Jessie J for a long, long time – and we know a lot of HG readers do, too. There’s good reason for this. In addition to being a really great singer with pop and R’n’B sensibilities (and really catchy tracks), she’s also known for her eccentric, fun-loving personality and her insistence on being a good role model to young fans, encouraging them to overcome adversity like bullying, self-acceptance and more.

If all that wasn’t enough, Jessie recently decided to shave her head for the UK’s Red Nose Day, part of the charity event known as Comic Relief, which aims to “bring about positive and lasting change in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people, which we believe requires investing in work that addresses people’s immediate needs as well as tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice”. That’s a good cause if ever we’ve heard one.

Jessie didn’t think twice about shaving all her hair off – something not many, especially a celebrity, would be keen to do – in order to raise a ton of money for a good cause, but it gets even better. Instead of covering up her newly bald head with wigs and hats, Jessie has been rocking the look, and she’s just as beautiful as ever.

So today, we celebrate Jessie J and her 25th birthday. She’s a shining example of the good fame can do, and how down-to-earth you can remain in the midst of it if you just take time to smile. Happy birthday, Jessie! We love you!
