Today, July 24th, is Amelia Earhart’s birthday. Born in 1897, she famously disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean during her attempt to fly around the world. A slew of theories about Earhart’s disappearance have emerged since, but we may never know what truly happened.

Last November, a small cosmetic jar found on a remote island in the Pacific was found and rumored to be a jar of Dr. Berry’s Freckle Ointment. Earhart was also rumored to dislike her freckles, so it would make sense if she carried along a jar of the freckle fader.

This past spring The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) believe they have found evidence that Earhart landed on a remote reef, after which her plane washed into the ocean and sank, according to the group’s website but unfortunately, nothing is conclusive yet.

So how do you feel, readers?
