If you’re wondering what the Oscars are going to look like this year, then you may just want to take a peek at the nominees for The Golden Globes. The Globes, which are doled out by 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, are set to take place this January, and are extra-special because they recognize movies and TV both in the States and abroad. The nominees were just announced and are kicking off award season in the best way possible.

For best picture, Spotlight, Carol, The Revenant, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Room are up for the “Drama” category, and Joy, The Martian, Trainwreck, The Big Short, and Spy are in the running for “Comedy.”

So many of these awesome films were lead by women, so it makes sense that many of the stars are also up for best actress. Our girl Brie Larson is up for Room, Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn, Cate Blanchett for Carol, Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl, and Rooney Mara for Carol. Then, of course, Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence are up for Trainwreck and Joy, respectively, proving that there’s nothing these women can’t do.

After the announcement, Schumer posted a hilarious tweet to express her thanks:

Then there’s Melissa McCarthy, who crushed it in Spy. Lily Tomlin is also up for Grandma and the amazing Maggie Smith for The Lady in the Van.

When it comes to TV, it’s almost as if they were snooping on our Netflix and Hulu accounts. Shows like VeepOrange is the New BlackGame of Thrones, and American Horror Story: Hotel are in the running for their genres, with some of the awesome women on the shows getting recognized as well. Uzo Aduba is up for Best Supporting Actress in Orange is the New Black, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Best Actress on Veep. Gina Rodriguez got a nod for Jane The Virgin (yay!) and Rachel Bloom for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (double yay!).

Suffice it to say, we’re excited, and think that everyone nominated totally deserves the recognition. We’re just glad we’re not the ones having to choose between such awesome people. Check out the full list here!
