Guys, I’m way too excited about the new Ghostbusters movie to even speak of its pending majesty. The movie is happening, it has already started shooting with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones (and, Chris Hemsworth), and it is going to be amazing. Believe me.

Aside from its all-star funny lady line up, not much information about the actual movie has been known. UNTIL NOW. Ghostbusters started shooting in Boston earlier this week, and some clever sleuth at the Boston Herald has revealed a little bit of plot information. Divert your eyes away if you want to be completely surprised but for those who are like YES TELL ME MORE, here goes.

According to the Herald, “Wigg and McCarty play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few ears and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia… she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.”

Yes, it sounds a little bit like the original Ghostbusters, but listen, that’s fine. Also, Slimer’s probably going to be back (maybe, *crosses fingers*). I would queue up for this movie right now if I could.

These deets still might not be enought of a Ghostbusters fix for you today, so there’s still MORE. The first image from the set have surfaced, and our Ghostbust-ing girls look great. Wiig’s rocking a pretty dated look, but supposedly that’s a flashback scene to the 80s. As for McCarthy and McKinnon, am I allowed to start dressing like this every day until the movie opens? Also, that’s director Paul Feig rocking the white fedora like it’s his job.

I’m excited. Are you excited? I might be excited enough for everyone at this point TBH. The movie will shoot all this summer in the city, with a planned opening of July 22nd 2016. That gives me enough time to figure out where I can purchase McKinnon’s yellow glasses online.
