Our hearts are heavy today as we just learned that the iconic George Michael has passed away. 

Various sources have confirmed that the singer-songwriter died at the age of 53. His representative has confirmed the news. Michael (full name Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotuo) was known for his work with the band Wham! with whom he created hits like “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.” As a solo artist, he was known for hits like “Careless Whisper” and “Faith.” In 1989, his album “Faith” won Album of the year.

We are seriously sad to learn about this news. His musical talent and energy will be missed.

According to BBC, the singer sought treatment in 2011 for pneumonia and even cancelled a number of shows. So far no details have been released as to the circumstances surrounding his death.
