The CW’s Dawn of the Justice League special, which aired Tuesday night, gave us a ton of goodies, including a first look into the highly-anticipated Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot. Zeroing in on the superhero, this film is part action movie, part origin story, following “the best fighter in the DC Universe’s” rise to power.

“We are going to see her coming of age, the entire history, what’s her mission,” Gadot explains in the segment, which includes a glimpse of the character in period costume, as well as her Amazonian roots.

Gadot is joined by actor Chris Pine, who plays Steve Trevor in the film. “Telling a story of this now is pivotal and important,” he comments. “The story of a very powerful woman.”

While Wonder Woman isn’t expected to hit theaters until June 23, 2017, the female warrior has an important part in the upcoming Batman vs Superman this March.

We can’t wait to see even more of this badass lady in action. Watch the sneak peek below!
