Whether you’ve dreamt of the perfect marriage proposal for your whole life or you never think about it at all, Shameless star Emmy Rossum’s engagement story is sure to give you all the ~feels.~

Speaking to Chelsea Handler on the Netflix show Chelsea, Rossum describes the moment when her fiancé, Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, popped the question.

Are you swooning and also cry-laughing? Because we are!

After Emmy shared her story, Chelsea smartly pointed out that proposing in the bathroom was probably Sam’s plan all along. “Obviously he wanted you to be in the bathtub if that’s where he approached you,” she said.

Touché, Chelsea, touché.

Check out the whole exchange in the clip below.

On the same episode of the show, Rossum — an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton — also addressed a controversy that erupted on Twitter after she shared some critical post-election thoughts. Following a series of tweets about how the election was affecting her emotionally, Rossum wrote, “I am a woman. I am Jewish. I am marrying an Arab American. My sister in law is handicapped. I’m a victim of sexual violence. It’s personal.” In response, she was subjected to anti-semitic messages — an absolutely disgusting turn.

You can hear Emmy’s confident and empowering response to the hateful messages — and learn more about her engagement — by watching Chelsea on Thursday, November 24th at 12:01AM PST on Netflix.
