If you were ever in doubt that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was one of the greatest humans ever then you need not look any further.

Following his announcement that he wanted to run for President (something we’re 100% behind), and his absolutely killer Saturday Night Live hosting duties over the weekend where he announced that he wanted non-other than Tom Hanks to be his running mate (again, something that we’re 100% behind), Johnson shared a touching and heartfelt message on to Instagram, all while retaining his signature humor.

The actor, whose latest movie Baywatch is released tomorrow (May 25th), shared an old school picture of himself, and fans of internet memes might recognize it.

Johnson posed in the ’90s wearing a black turtleneck, a fanny pack, a silver chain, blue dad jeans, and even had flattop hair. The whole thing is incredibly iconic, and one heck of a look.

However, the actor put a more recent picture of himself recreating the iconic look up as comparison, and wrote one incredibly touching Instagram post, too.

“When I took this iconic absurdity of a picture in 1996 I was one year removed from sleeping on a used mattress I took from a garbage dumpster in the back of an hourly sex motel,” he recalled. “Couldn’t afford to buy a bed so we do what we gotta do to get by. You can imagine all the fun colorful bodily fluids I tried my best to clean off.”

The actor then went on to say how his life had changed in the resulting 21 years, and how he was now hosting SNL for the fifth time. He then went on to share an super inspiring message.

Tbh, with wise words like this, we can’t think of someone we’d like to run for President more than Dwayne Johnson.
