Aw man, is this ever a duck-blur. Disney just announced that it’s bringing back its beloved DuckTales for a new generation of duck adventures. Can I get a giant, WOO-HOO?

The original animated TV show lasted on Disney from 1987-1990 as part of The Disney Afternoon cartoon block, which is what we watched immediately after school. DuckTales then ran in syndication forEVER. It’s safe to say over the years it’s acquired a cult following of diehard Duck fans.

The series followed money-hungry — but loveable! — Scrooge McDuck and his three duck grandnephews, color coordinated Huey (red), Dewey (blue) and Louie (green). DuckTales also gave us such memorable characters as Launchpad McQuack (remember, the pilot?) and fearless Webbigail Vanderquack. Webby, for short.

The news of the new series is seriously exciting for anyone who ever wanted to move to Duckburg as a kid (or, ahem, an adult). Disney’s PR Twitter account tweeted out the happy news, including a picture of some duck feet too because d’awwww.

The new series will follow the same cast of characters, plus Donald Duck, as the gang embarks on a “high flying” world adventure. (Good thing Launchpad is such a great pilot!) It’s so far slated to hit Disney XD in 2017, and we can’t wait. “DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,” Marc Buhaj, SVP, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD told Deadline, “Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

You can bring whatever spirit you want, as long as the theme song stays the same, because it’s seriously the best opening theme song ever. Have fun humming this for the rest of the day. “Ducktales woo-hoo.”
