Dakota Johnson and Jimmy Fallon turned "Fifty Shades Darker" into a comedy, and we'd genuinely watch that, guys
If anyone was going to turn a lusciously erotic drama like Fifty Shades Darker into a fully-fledged comedic screwball extravaganza, it would be our favorite talk show host and his (unsuspecting) movie star accomplice.
That’s right, Jimmy Fallon and Dakota Johnson turned Fifty Shades Darker into a comedy!
All it took was a game of Mad Lib Theater, where Johnson provided Fallon with nouns, adjectives, verbs, and of course a selection of “silly words,” like barf (which actually wasn’t silly enough for Fallon, who changed it to “barf-barf”). And then they were off, acting out the scenes with this new dialogue!
Granted Johnson was a little apprehensive at the beginning, but she dived in headfirst. So, this is the scene from the movie where Anastasia and Christian meet for the first time.
Okay, we’re kinda digging Fallon as Christian Grey, because even though he definitely couldn’t keep a straight face…the voice is just perfect.
And is it just us, or should we play Mad Libs WAY more often?!
via giphyYep, we could definitely watch the whole movie with hilarious pop culture-infused dialogue.
via giphyLet’s be real though. The best part was Anastasia’s “favorite dance” that she does when interviews go well.
It’s called “the hairless sausage,” and it goes a little something like this.
via giphyWhile we could definitely go for another dose of Mad Libs right now (the one with Benedict Cumberbatch is essential viewing), we’re even more ridiculously excited to see Fifty Shades Darker, the real movie, because Johnson is so utterly perfect as her character Anastasia. And then there’s Jamie Dornan, who we also enjoy for obvious reasons.
Come on, Valentine’s Day!
