Dakota Johnson on how things have changed in Hollywood since her grandmother was a star
While Fifty Shades of Gray star Dakota Johnson is relatively new to fame herself, she’s still be surrounded by it her whole life. With a famous mother, Melanie Griffith, and grandmother, Tippi Hedren, Dakota has seen the best and worst of the industry. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t find it weird to now be a part of it herself.
In an interview with The Edit, Dakota laments how Hollywood has changed, and particularly how social media has shaped our view of celebrities.
Of course, Dakota is grateful for all the opportunities she’s been given, but it’s always a hard adjustment when something you’ve been dreaming of for so long doesn’t match your expectations. “It’s like a little bit of magic is slipping away and I don’t know why,” she continues.
We totally understand the vulnerability Dakota feels in modern Hollywood, but there are some advantages to this day and age as well. While the old-timey feel of Hollywood may be gone, there’s a whole new amazing world that allows us to connect with our idols and interact with stars in ways we were never able to before.
Plus, Dakota’s talent? Now that’s the real magic.
