You wouldn’t know it from his role on the hit show Arrow, or his hilarious Halloween costumes, but Colton Haynes has lived his whole life with a very particular struggle. Of course, that’s always the case with mental illness—it often is so hidden that we don’t even think about it. That’s why it’s so important that people like Haynes are opening up.

After retweeting an article about how anxiety affects social status, Haynes posted a series of tweets that revealed that anxiety is a serious issue he’s been battling for as long as he can remember:

We’re so incredibly proud that Haynes was able to open up to all of us about a sensitive issue, and even more grateful that he left us with an important message: we’re not alone.

Of course, his posts were met with countless messages of support, so he finished up with an awesome tweet to keep in mind, whether or not we’re currently struggling:

Haynes’ words have touched more people that he could ever know, and we’re so thankful and supportive of everything he’s done.
