Christina Aguilera looks like a disco dream in her new "Telepathy" video
While she might not have released a blockbuster album this year like fellow superstars Rihanna, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, or Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera hasn’t spent 2016 resting on her laurels.
Not only did Christina return to The Voice, the singer also “performed” with a hologram of Whitney Houston, played around with her hair, and, oh, low-key released one of the best songs of the year.
That’s right, Christina Aguilera contributed to the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix series, The Get Down, and it’s totally incredible.
Called “Telepathy,” the song is a collaboration with songwriting maestro and genuinely amazing pop entity Sia, as well as disco legend Nile Rodgers. The song is AMAZING.
Now Christina has shared a special surprise music video for the song as a thank you to fans and we’re obsessed.
The new visuals totally compliment the disco-flavoured track, and sees Christina with a hairdo that’s totally reminiscent of the bushy curls from the “Lady Marmalade” video.
Doesn’t she look like a total kween!?
We’ve got total hair envy right now.
As Christina said, the clip isn’t an official video for the song, but rather a thank you fans for supporting the track, and we think that’s SO amazing.
Watch the “Telepathy” fan video below.
Christina hasn’t released a solo album since 2012’s Lotus, which was preceded by the Max Martin produced banger, “Your Body.” Since then, the singer has appeared as a guest vocalist on a number of features, most notably 2013’s emotional collaboration with A Great Big World, “Say Something.”
The star has also appeared on numerous seasons of The Voice, taking some time out from the show after becoming pregnant with her second child in 2014. And earlier this summer, Christina released a charity single to raise money for the victims of the horrific shootings in Orlando.
Despite this, we absolutely craving a brand new Christina album.
Seriously, four years is too long, and we’ve been totally obsessed with “Telepathy” since it premiered earlier this year. In fact, we really hope that Xtina is working on a full disco album as we think it’d totally S-L-A-Y.
C’mon Christina Aguilera – we’re soooooo ready to put on bell bottoms pants, get out our sequins, and dance under the disco ball.
