Chris Pratt just introduced us to our new fave 'Jimmy Fallon' segment
If we ever get bored with Lip Sync Battle (but that’s not likely to happen) we’ve already got our next go-to sing-a-long show: Nonsense Karaoke. It’s just like real karaoke, but without the real song lyrics. This is officially our new favorite segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and it’s made even better with the fact that Chris Pratt is involved, too.
The two guys tackle three songs together, “Uptown Funk,” “Stay With Me,” And “Since U Been Gone.” Except, they’re not exactly the real songs, because of that nonsense karaoke part. Instead of singing “girls hit your hallelujah,” Pratt has to sing, “gurgle spit into my tuba.” He’s so committed to theses lyrics, though, we’re willing to believe they’re the right lyrics. Pratt’s also singing it in a three-piece suit, and I don’t think there are many people out there willing to sing nonsense words to “Uptown Funk” in a three-piece suit. This is why Pratt is one of the best.
Fallon then does his solo song to “Stay With Me,” which now includes a verse about shaving one’s knee, and the two finish off with a grand rendition of Ms. Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.” The lyrics are full of so much nonsense, but Fallon and Pratt pull it off perfectly. Do you get the feeling that this isn’t the first time Pratt’s decided to sing the wrong words for karaoke?
Check out the video below, which will most certainly put you in a good mood for Tuesday.
