Just a bunch of celebrity children I would like to be
I’ll be honest: after Blake Lively revealed that she’s pregnant, I spent a little too much time imagining about how awesome it would be to be raised by a super-cool superstar couple like Blake and Ryan Reynolds. There’s no use in trying to deny that I haven’t—on a few occasions—thought about what it would be like to be the baby of a big celebrity. Okay, maybe not a baby, but just like a small child/teenager. While it’s probably not always easy being in the spotlight, if you’ve got a pair of grounded celebrity parents, the sky’s the limit as to what you can do. As someone who has dedicated a good deal of time to thinking about this, I present to you my list of celebrity children I would like to be, ranked in order (and this order is my own, feel free to daydream about your own imaginary celebrity parents).
10. Prince George of Cambridge
Son of Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate. I mean, I’d rather be a princess, but I’ll take what I can get. He is such a beloved little prince that people from all over the world sent him gifts when he was born. Plus, if half of the world news in a day is dedicated to life moments like taking your first steps, then I guess you’re a pretty popular baby. Also, those cheeks.
9. Ava Phillippe
Daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. Little mini-me alert. Ava is an exact spitting image of her mom, and it’s adorable. The same blonde hair, the same smile, the same eyes–it’s almost uncanny. There’s a very high chance that we’ll see Ava start appearing in films in the near future.
8. Lincoln Bell Shepard
Daughter of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. If life at the Bell-Shepard house isn’t like that Samsung tablet commercial, please don’t tell me otherwise. I assume that’s how they go about their day, every day, and I’d love to be a part of it. Little Lincoln is growing up in a wonderful, loving household. I’m not jealous or anything.
7. Rashida Jones
Daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton. No one said this list had to be limited to children under the age of fifteen, which is why I’ve chosen Rashida. There’s a reason Leslie Knope calls her a beautiful tropical fish. She is ridiculously smart (she attended Harvard and almost became a lawyer), hilariously funny, incredibly involved in both politics and charity work, and she directed Sara Bareilles‘ Brave. I want to be her.
6. Future Child of Lauren Graham
Okay, so I know Lauren Graham doesn’t have any children right now, but that doesn’t mean she won’t have a baby at some point. And when that happens, that child will jump right to the top of my list. So her spot right now is merely just a placeholder. Maybe we can just count Rory?
5. Harper and Gideon Burtka-Harris
Twins of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burkta. This one’s a twofer with identical twins Harper and Gideon. They are not only the cutest twins in the world, but also always appear to be having the best time ever, whether it’s playing dress up at home or hanging out at Disneyland with their dads. Also, just wait until they’re older and can really bring their Halloween A-game, full force.
4. Archibald William Emerson Arnett
Son of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett. Or, just Archie, for short. What a little dream boat, and he’s only six years old. Bonus points for the Batman costume. Sometimes I really do dream about what it might be like to wake up in the morning and have Amy prepare waffles for breakfast. Is it magical? I bet it is.
3. Alice Fey
Daughter of Tina Fey and Jeff Richmond. If little Alice grows up to even be half as funny as her mother, then the world will be a better place. She doubled for Tina in some Liz Lemon flashback moments during of 30 Rock, and played her stunt double during the ice bucket challenge. Someone please get Penelope her own sitcom already.
2. Blue Ivy Carter
Daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. But you already knew that. Like there’s even anything else I could say about Blue Ivy that hasn’t already been written in scripture.
1, Maude Apatow
Daughter of Judd Apatow and Lesile Mann. Yes, for me Maude comes in first. I think Maude is the coolest, and she’s half my age. And considering how funny she is, and the fact that she’s only in high school, it can only mean that she’s got a very long life in the comedy world. She’s appeared in a lot of her father’s movies, and she’ll make an appearance on this season of GIRLS, too. I actively follow her Twitter, and I was really excited for her when she and a bunch of her friends went to the 1D concert in LA. Is that weird? I don’t know. Maybe I don’t so much want to be her, but be best friends with her, or at least like a big sister/little sister mentorship. Maude, you’re the best. Never change.
