This first picture of Cara Delevingne in 'Suicide Squad' is totally terrifying
Woah, who would have ever thought that Cara Delevingne could look this creepy? Cara, who starred in Paper Towns and countless runway shows, is taking the next step in her film career as Enchantress in the heavily anticipated Suicide Squad. As charming as the name “Enchantress” sounds, the character is anything but, as evidenced by the photo posted by our girl over on her Instagram.
She looks awesome. Slightly, make that extremely, terrifying, but awesome at the same time.
The picture is from the latest issue of Empire magazine, which features the exclusive pictures of both Jared Leto’s Joker and now Cara’s Enchantress. Both costumes put the “super” in supervillain, and are going to cause a lot of last-minute scrambling with Halloween right around the corner.
If you’re a little shocked by the costume, maybe some backstory will get you caught up. Enchantress is actually a character named June Moone, an artist who was cursed at a costume party to become an ancient sorceress.
“She’s an ancient sorceress,” Cara told Empire. “A feral being. She’s been trapped for so long and now she’s finally let out. . .June is an adventure-seeker who’s always wanted some excitement. And she gets what she wished for, in an terrible way.”
Current fan theories suggest that Enchantress is the main villain in the film, which would be awesome for Cara (and us). We always want to see more of her—and more main female characters in blockbuster movies in general.
With so much time between now and August 5th, 2016, when the movie comes out (I know, we have to wait sooo long!), theories could change and everything we thought we knew about the film could be proven wrong. We’ll be relying on Cara to keep dropping more hints.
