Despite being on the path to solo stardom, all Camila Cabello wants to do is go to Europe and fall in love (and, like, same).
In case you weren’t aware, Camila Cabello quit Fifth Harmony last year (among some minor online drama). Since then, however, the star has added to her to her already impressive solo repertoire — Cabello had already released songs with Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly — by sharing a sultry R&B track with Cashmere Cat and hopping on a song with Pitbull for the new Fast and the Furious movie. What’s more, it seems that Cabello is in the studio with pop maestro and demigod, Max Martin (who is responsible for, like, every big pop song of the last two decades).
Yet despite having a solo career that looks set to kick off in a big way, Camila Cabello has simpler ambitions.
In an interview with Latina magazine, Cabello spoke about her solo career, and how she wanted to be a proper artist.
“I feel like I found my voice in the process [of recording my solo material],” she said. “Music has helped me become self-aware and know who I am as a person.”
The singer has previously spoken about how she felt creatively stifled while in Fifth Harmony, with the star also adding that she had felt over sexualized in the band, too.
Continuing, Cabello told Latina about her own dreams, and it’s actually so relatable.
“I want to make songs and have incredible experiences with people,” she said. “I don’t want to be locked up in a hotel room and just do press and red carpets. That’s not the kind of life I want to live.”
Tbh, that sounds like a dream to us! Hopefully, Camila, you’ll get to live yours in the not so distant future.
