Britney Spears avoided doing a backflip in the middle of her show, and we understand why
When it comes to dancing and basic acrobatics, Britney Spears can do no wrong. Except when something goes, you know… wrong.
During her set at Tuesday’s Apple Music Festival at the Camden Roundhouse stage in London, Spears had a bit of an acrobatic fail. With the help of a dancer, she was supposed to perform a back flip — something she does regularly in her Las Vegas show.
But something felt off to her, so she bailed.
Because who wants to do a backflip when you’re not 100% comfortable with your spotter?
Spears then attempted to re-situate and try again, but was just like, “Yeah, no this isn’t happening today.” Videos of the awkward flip fail have been posted to Twitter, and it’s clear that Spears just wasn’t feeling it.
Yet, her fans (us included) still love her and completely understand why this backflip simply wasn’t meant to happen.
We’re no flip experts, so it’s hard to say who was at fault, but it doesn’t really matter. Because she’s Britney, b*tch. Plus, we’ve all been there (likely in gymnastics class when we were seven, so we’re def not ones to judge).
The show was Spears’ first London gig in five years. Despite the minor flip mishap, she completely tore up the stage.
She had at least six costume changes, endless sequins, a variety of hats, half-naked men, and fireworks. It was basically her Vegas show in London. So backflip or not, it sounds like the show lived up to the Spears standard, and that’s a beautiful thing.
