Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are back together as husband and wife on the big screen, but this is nothing like their last time with Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Oh no, far far different from that explosion heavy outing. So now, start getting excited for their incredibly retro-inspired movie, By The Sea.

This brand new trailer for the movie clocks in at just over a minute, so right now it’s short on plot. But! We do know what’s going to happen. By The Sea is about a married couple (Jolie and Pitt, of course) who are vacationing at a French seaside resort in the ’70s. Judging by the looks of this location, we’re going to want to pack our bags and go there ASAP.

Except, Jolie told Entertainment Weekly that, “It’s this lovely and quiet island and we built the hotel and bar. Everyone who has seen the movie wants to go to that exact place — but it’s just the magic of film.” OK, we’ll just dream about this beach-front hotel then.

And even though it looks like the prefect vacation spot, while there Jolie and Pitt’s characters start to “come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.” And yeah, we can totally get that from the trailer seeing as how there are lots of shots of them looking off into the distance, long sullen walks along the beach, and well, some less than romantic moments.

Set to Harry Nilsson’s moody, eerie “Perfect Day,” the couple’s immaculately styled vacation plans are layered with a haunting emotional undercurrent. Something isn’t quite right, and by the end of this minute-long trailer, we’re let to believe that something is really, really dark.

Four words: We are so in.

There’s also one other huge thing to note: the film’s not only produced by Jolie, but she wrote and directed it, too. We’re all about more women being represented in front of the camera and behind it. And Jolie has already proven with Unbroken and In the Land of Blood and Honey that she’s got the chops to be a masterful auteur.

So mark this one on your calendars for the upcoming holiday season. By The Sea opens on November 13th and its got “OSCAR” written all over it.
