In 'Boy Meets World' news: Eric Matthews is our new 'Guardians of the Galaxy' superhero!
If you’re someone who still hasn’t gotten a sufficient Guardians of the Galaxy fix, I’ve got some good news. Soon, there will be an animated series based off of the movie (and the comic) on Disney XD. Do you want some even better GotG news? Boy Meets World‘s Will Friedle is going to voice Star-Lord.
Before you get all up in arms about the fact that Chris Pratt isn’t voicing Star-Lord, remember that Chris Pratt is a very, very busy man right now. So it’s OK for him to pass the Star-Lord torch over to someone else, and Friedle is a PERFECT choice. If you’re not up-to-date on Eric Matthews’ resume, this isn’t his first time doing voice work. He voiced Ron Stoppable on Kim Possible all the way back in the early 2000s. He’s also the voice of Bumblebee on the new Transformers animated series, and has done of work voicing characters like Batman and Green Arrow for both television and video games. Basically, Eric is all grown up and just as awesome as ever.
He made the official announcement earlier today on Disney XD’s YouTube page, and promised us that Star-Lord is “crazy, funny. . . and kooky.” We’re going to hold him to that.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to debut sometime later this year and will follow Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Dax and Gamora’s adventures well beyond the end of the movie. So grab your Walkman and start getting excited.
