If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you likely have already realized that J.K. Rowling put a ton of time and effort into making connections happen throughout the books. Whether you’re a major fan of either the books or the movies (or let’s be honest, you’re an equal fan of all of it), you probably picked up on the fact that a lot of things come “full circle” in terms of character development, plot, and so on.

While Rowling has spoken out and confirmed (and denied) some theories about her books, she doesn’t make everything crystal clear. That’s where her loyal readers come in and investigate some theories of their own.

A recent theory posted by reddit user RGRDBB2X highlights a possible planned connection between the death of Lily Evans, Harry’s mother and how Harry saves Molly Weasley, his “surrogate” mother. RGRDBB2X explains their theory as follows:

“The last person that Voldemort attacks before his and Harry’s first encounter is Lily Potter, the mother Harry lost and never knew.

The last person Voldemort attacks before his and Harry’s final encounter is Molly Weasley, the mother Harry found and always wanted…..

This time though, Harry is able to pay forward to his “second” mother the same act his real mother did for him and save her from Voldemort’s attack, the same way Lily saved him.”
