J. K. Rowling received a cake shaped like King's Cross station for her birthday and it's as awesome as it sounds
J.K. Rowling intimately celebrated her 51st birthday yesterday with friends and family, and shared highlights with all of us Harry Potter fans via Twitter. Not only did she look stunning in her simple, yet chic LBD, she was surprised with an epic cake in the shape of King’s Cross at midnight!
“I got a cake in the shape of King’s Cross at midnight,” the Harry Potter creator tweeted.
King’s Cross is the infamous London railway station, which houses the Harry Potter series’ Platform 9 3/4 – for all of you newbies out there.
Along with the birthdays of Rowling and Potter (36), fans are on the tail-end of celebrating the play-script release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – written by Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, and published July 30th.
The play is currently showing in London’s West End, and is making plans to hit Broadway in the US as early as 2017.
