IDK if you want to listen to “The Final Countdown” right now, but here it is. I mean, it’s fitting for the news that’s about to happen, but you do you.

BECAUE THIS IS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN FOR WHAT MIGHT, FINALLY, BE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT SEASON 5.

Are our Bluths coming back? You bet. Following the show’s cancellation on Fox back in 2006, it was the first ever Netflix original series, and the first ever Netflix revival. Netflix has always been watching out for our best interest, even way back when.

Following Season 4 on Netflix, there’s long been talk about a Season 5. Would it happen? Did we want it to happen? Would it be just as amazing, hilarious, and sharp as the seasons prior? All questions we’ve had, and it looks like we’re about to get an answer. Earlier today at the Netflix TCA press tour panel, series creator, Mitch Hurwitz explained that he is “ready to go.”

“[Arrested Development Season 5] is the thing I’m really desperate to do,” Hurwitz explained to the crowd. “We’ve got a lot of the stories broke and we’re ready to go.”

Then he dropped a major cornballer:

“If it does happen, it looks like the shooting will start at the beginning of 2017.”

You guys, 2017 isn’t that far away. And if the show shoots in early 2017, it might be ready to go by the end of 2017. Does this sound like a clear cut situation for comedy? Hell yes. Tell your friends.
