James Corden challenged Anne Hathaway to a rap battle during her appearance on The Late Late Show on Tuesday. Usually celebrity rap battles are relatively light-hearted and P.C., but this rap battle took a turn for the serious. Or at least the pretend serious.

Nothing was off the table as the two brilliantly went after each other. Corden kicked things off by insulting Hathaway’s rapping and acting skills.

“Am I the Drake of this battle and Anne is Meek Mill? Now it’s her turn to try and act a little scary, cuz the only Catwoman I acknowledge is Halle Berry,” he rapped.

Oooooh burrrrrn. But don’t worry, Hathaway came out swinging.

“A Catwoman dis, gosh, what do you I do? I can’t make fun of you, James, because no one’s heard of you,” she spat. “Now that I finally have a chance to speak, I say your rhymes are like your ratings, they’re incredibly weak.”

They continued to play hardball, and it’s all amazing. We’re super impressed with both of their abilities to spit rhymes, but in the end, Hathaway most definitely Hathaslaaaaayed.

Mic drop.
