Amy Poehler perfectly explains why Chris Pratt rocks
You might think you’re the #1 Chris Pratt superfan, but we all pale in comparison to his ultimate #1 superfan, Amy Poehler. Time released their list of the 100 Most Influential People, and naturally, Pratt made the cut. Leave it to Poehler to write an incredibly touching tribute to her friend and Parks and Recreation co-star.
The two go way back, as you know, because they’ve been together since he was just a guy who accidentally fell into a pit and broke both his legs (good memories). Poehler’s watched his rise to leading man status, and she couldn’t be happier. “Chris Pratt is here to save us—from aliens, dinosaurs and general boredom,” she writes in Time, “America has decided he is its next big movie star, and I understand why.”
“It’s not because he looks like the perfect combination of a guy you know mixed with a guy you want to be. It’s because he has that something special. That magic thing that lets you know he is used to working hard and isn’t interested in wasting your time,” Poehler continues, and I think I can feel some tears coming on, “He is a real man in a sea of ciphers, a good father and friend, and one naturally funny dude. Pratt may spend the next few years riding horses or chasing comets, but he can land a joke with a natural ease that most people spend a lifetime trying to achieve.”
No arguing there. We agree with everything.
You can read the whole little blurb in this week’s issue of Time, and you can catch Pratt in basically every single moving coming out for the next few years. Hey, we’re not complaining, and neither is his rad cheerleader, Poehler.
