If you’re a human who’s been on the internet in the last twelve plus hours, then #HoldTheDoor probably has a whole new meaning for you today (and pretty much for the rest of your life, right???).

**Warning, major spoilers ahead.**

While you’ve been spending the morning wallowing in your deepest pit of despair, Hodor himself (Kristian Nairn) actually only saw the scene for the first time today. And what did he think? Well, he had some hopeful thoughts about his lovable character’s (maybe?!) end.

Talking to People, Nairn said, “The interesting thing is it’s kinda left open. You don’t actually see him [die].”

Nairn continued, “So who knows? He may come back as a White Walker, maybe he got away. But it’s a really good way to do it. I couldn’t have asked for a better goodbye to a character I love.”

SAME, Kristian, SAAAAAME.

Now, excuse us while we bury our feelings in a deep, deep ditch, and enjoy this pic from HAPPIER TIMES.
